Officials at the University of Virginia are preparing to handle the increase of traffic over the weekend. 30,000 to 35,000 people will be coming to Charlottesville to watch their loved ones graduate.
The University is offering a free shuttle service from the John Paul Jones arena to UVa's Grounds so that people can park at JPJ. Parking will also be available at the garage located on the intersection of Emmet and Ivy.
Valedictory exercises will take place on the lawn Saturday at 11 a.m. and Final exercises will take place Sunday at 10 a.m. on the lawn. People are asked to avoid the Emmet, Ivy, McCormick Road, and Scott Stadium areas if at all possible during those times.
If you are attending the graduation, you should allow for extra travel time due to traffic.
For any weather related cancellations, visit UVa's website and click on the Final Exercises link.
