The University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science is celebrating its 175th anniversary.
“Thomas Jefferson always had the understanding that there will be an engineering school at Uva. Thomas Jefferson had the view that sciences were important, ”said Jim Aylor, Dean of the Engineering and Applied Science School.
Aylor says the engineering school hopes students will have more opportunities to conduct research in the future.
Currently, many students are getting signing bonuses after they graduate. Aylor recommends students who are interested in becoming an engineering student at UVa to have a good background in math and science.
