Friday night is the last Fridays After Five of the 2009 season. The weekly concert series is finishing with not one, but two local bands headlining, In Technicolor and Tim Be Told.

Two local bands share the stage this week for Fridays After Five. And while both groups fall under the genre of pop rock they are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

In Technicolor combines optimistic lyrics with bright melodies, infusing music with fun. Lead singer, Drew Morris says, "We are a very interactive band, we like to make the shows very interactive with the audience." It's music you can dance to. Colorful pop anthems with flavors of the 60s and 70s. Morris adds, "We just just try to write catchy pop tunes because that's what music is to us, so that's what we try to do. I think if you come out to the show you'll leave with some songs in your head."

Tim Be Told blends elements of soul, gospel, and blues with the pop and rock for a unique but familiar sound. Lead singer, Tim Ouyang says, "Each of these guys has a different style of playing and they love different types of music so there is this eclectic feel that comes together." Winners of UVa battle of the bands in 2008, Tim Be Told has toured coast to coast spreading there music and message behind the music. "Our goal is that people will just connect and relate and just find some kind of inspiration in what we do." says Ouyang.
