Students at Northridge Preschool in Albemarle County have a new tree to call their own.
The DoubleTree Hotel in Albemarle County started the Teaching Kids to Care program eight years ago. The people from the hotel helped the preschoolers plant their new tree.
They say it's never too early to teach kids to take care of the planet.
"We love our tree, and we hope it gets tall and green," Northridge student Taylor said. "[We'll] water it and plant it, help it to be healthy and tall."
Over the last eight years, the program has planted 20 trees around the area.
