These days it seems like everyone is trying to recycle, but sometimes all the work of storing, sorting, and transporting your recyclables makes it seem like it's not worth your time and energy. Well now Albemarle County residences have options for curbside recycling pick up.

Sue Battani, owner of My Recycling Club says, "A lot of Albemarle county residents love to recycle but they just don't have the time or energy to bring everything out here to McIntire and we're basically just a facilitator, offering the service for curbside recycling collection." Curbside recycling is available for Charlottesville residents but if you live in Albemarle County your options are limited. The goal of My Recycling Club and Green Pieces Recycling is to make the recycling process easier so that more people will do it. Melissa Pyles, owner of Green Pieces Recycling says, "We started recycling and the whole green movement started to become really important to me and i figured that the easier it is for people to recycle then the more often they will do it."

Both companies make the process very easy... just collect the recycled materials accepted at the McIntire road recycling center in your own bins or the bins provided and on your scheduled day just carry them outside to be picked up. Battani adds, "It's one more thing that you can do to make our county and our neighborhoods clean." Now you can feel good about recycling and living greener but without all the headaches and hassle of doing it yourself. "I really wanted it to be easier to starting getting into a green lifestyle for everybody and recycling is just one of the things I do. It lead to other things for me and I'm hoping it will lead to other things for other people." says Pyles.
