As part of Clean Commute Day on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall, representatives from Rideshare want you to try alternate ways of getting around town.
They're talking about things like carpooling or using public transportation.
Officials were out on the Mall, letting people know about all their options. Organizers said they hope their efforts turns into people's habits.
"Once you get started, you realize it's not that bad," Rideshare program manager Lisa Horany said. "Maybe I could incorporate this once or twice a week, carpool or ride the bus."
Rideshare encourages drivers to try one of those ways of getting around town at least once this spring.
Friday was the 20th anniversary for Clean Commute Day.
