Charlottesville Senior Mason Sherry signed a national letter of intent Friday to play his college football at Division II Alderson-Broaddus in West Virginia.
The quarterback will be a part of the Battlers' first-ever football program.
"The football part was made easy by the staff there. They're a wealth of experience and energy and made him feel at home. It was a pretty easy sell for Mason," said Charlottesville Head Coach Eric Sherry, Mason's father.
Mason was the 2011 All-Jefferson District Quarterback and is excited for the new opportunity.
"I know there's gonna be at least six or seven quarterbacks there so there's gonna be some competition but I look forward to it," Sherry said.
