High School Hoops: February 22, 2012
Both the William Monroe and Madison County girls basketball teams saw their seasons come to an end in Regional quarterfinal play Wednesday night. Monroe fell to Central Woodstock 45-41 and Madison lost 49-19 to East Rockingham.

Both the William Monroe and Madison County girls basketball teams saw their seasons come to an end in Regional quarterfinal play Wednesday night. Monroe fell to Central Woodstock 45-41 and Madison lost 49-19 to East Rockingham.
The Green Dragons were the 5-seed in the Region B, Division II tournament and had to go on the road to 4-seed Central Woodstock. Monroe trailed by three at halftime but held a two-point advantage heading into the fourth.
Meanwhile the Mountaineers struggled on the road against East Rockingham. Madison only had four points at halftime and trailed by 24 before eventually falling, 49-19.
