VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - Virginia Beach police are investigating a wreck during a pursuit that killed one person and injured three others.

Police spokeswoman Tonya Borman tells media outlets that a vehicle fleeing police hit a van at an intersection Sunday night. The impact sent the van into a third vehicle.

Borman says the driver of the van was killed.

The vehicle involved in the pursuit flipped and caught fire. The driver and two passengers were injured and taken to a hospital. Their injuries aren't believed to be life-threatening.

Borman says the pursuit began when an officer tried to pull over the first vehicle for traffic violations.
