The Albemarle County School Board has called for a special meeting to take place on Wednesday, September 8th.

The meeting will allow prospective candidates for the vacant At-Large position on the Albemarle County School Board to answer questions about what makes them qualified to serve on the Board.

The presentations will act as a supplement to the candidates letters of interest and resumes.

In addition they will allow the School Board and the public to hear from each prospective candidate in person.

The Board will accept public input on the qualities and characteristics they believe the selected candidate should possess.

After reviewing the presentations and considering public opinion, the School Board will narrow the 15 applicants to be interviewed.

Interviews will then take place during the week of September 13th.

Just change the date and allow the Public to vote for a candidate of THEIR choice. This like letting prison inmates pick their own jailer, except the inmates are smarter and have a higher set of values.

Change the date and fire the person who decided on that date so we can vote for two new board members instead of one.

What a shame that they have scheduled this important opportunity for public input on Rosh Hashanah. So much for inclusion of all members of the community...
