The American Legion says displaying a bust of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin at the National D-Day Memorial is inappropriate and insensitive.

"The News and Advance" newspaper reports that delegates at the legion's national convention in Milwaukee approved a resolution Thursday condemning the bust.

The National D-Day Memorial Foundation installed the bust in June. It joined busts of other Allied leaders, including presidents Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman and British Prime Minister Churchill.

The American Legion says the bust is seen as giving Stalin a place of honor.

Foundation President Robin Reed would not comment on the resolution. Foundation officials have previously said the bust isn't to honor Stalin.

Stalin`s Forces saved many, many, American and British lives.Infamous Stalin? Yes, but the Soviet Army, under Stalin`s ruthless leadership, helped as much to end the war in Europe as the A Bomb in the Pacific. The memorial honors WWII Allies and their leaders and is not a commentary on other aspects of this planet`s history.

Sorry America Legion, but the Liberals(ACLU, SPLC, PETA, AFL-CIO, Demokratic Party) love Stalin.
