Mattress Fuels Fire in Charlottesville Home
A mattress caught on fire in a Charlottesville home on Monday morning. Firefighters says a lamp next to the bed started the fire. The mattress was dragged out to the front yard, where the fire was then put out.

A mattress caught on fire in a Charlottesville home on Monday morning.

Firefighters says a lamp next to the bed started the fire. The mattress was dragged out to the front yard, where the fire was then put out.

The fire did not spread to the rest of the bedroom, and no one was hurt in the ordeal.

The incident occurred on Prospect Avenue.

It is great to hear that no one was hurt and that the house was saved from any damage. It is very depressing to drive by the house on Earlysville road that burned a week or so ago. I believe I read that those owners plan to rebuild.
