Police Investigate Attempted Robbery

October 4, 2007

Charlottesville police are investigating an attempted robbery that happened Wednesday night.

Police say it happened Wednesday night around 10:30 p.m. when three men riding bikes tried to rob a man on Locust Avenue. Police were able to catch two of the suspects.

Investigators say that no weapon was used and the victim was able to get away.

"The three surrounded the man and demanded his wallet from him, made him put his hands up on a tree so they could watch him, then he was finally able to get away and call the police department" said Lt. Gary Pleasants of the Charlottesville Police Department.

Police are still searching for the third suspect. If you have any information you're asked to call crimestoppers at 434-977-4000.
