Some new suspected gang graffiti was found in Albemarle County. This time, it showed up along a walking path between Greenbrier Drive and Townwood Road.

The county has already covered the tags, but they once contained the gang symbols SUR 13 and SMG 13.

Neighbors who use the path say they never expected to see gang signs where they say they feel safe.

“I didn't think anything of it. I thought it was children playing or some strange hopscotch or something like that,” said Walt Kehoe, who often walks along the path.

Police say they now believe the vandalism is the work of a local street gang and have some leads and a couple of suspects with ties to that gang.

So far, no arrests have been made.
