Police Charge Suspect In UVa Stabbing

University police have charged a Barboursville man in a stabbing incident that took place in the parking lot of the Madison House.

Police have charged Wesley Thomas Gay of Barboursville with one count of malicious wounding and one count of assault in the stabbing that took place last week.

On October 5th University police responded to an assault in the Madison House parking lot. Officials say an altercation between the victim and the suspect began at the Delta Upsilon fraternity house on Rugby Rd.

The disorder carried over to the Madison House parking lot where the stabbing happened. Gay is being held in the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail until a bond hearing on October 12th at 10:00 a.m. in the Charlottesville General District Court.
