Three choices were unveiled Thursday for the future design of a permanent replacement for the old Advance Mills Bridge in Ruckersville.

VDOT hosted a meeting showing off the new designs to the public.

In an effort to pick the right bridge for the community, VDOT says they're looking for as much public input as they can get, as early on as they can get it.

"It's very valuable for us, particularly at the beginning of the process to gather as much public input and get as many comments as we can from the residents who are involved," said Lou Hatter of VDOT, "because that way we have a better sense of what the public's feeling and the public's preferences are."

While designers are deciding on the permanent bridge, a temporary
bridge will be finished by Spring 2008.

The projected finish date for the permanent bridge is Fall 2010.

VDOT is accepting public input by email on their website through Sunday, October 21st.
