Boys And Girls Club Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

October 14, 2007

The Charlottesville Boys and Girls Club sponsored the first annual Southwood Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration Saturday afternoon.

Kids enjoyed face painting and a moon bounce, while people of all ages were treated to a UVA salsa group and some authentic food.

The celebration is just one of a number of events the club puts on in the community.

"The main focus is celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, but we also focus on the whole neighborhood and all cultural events," said Director Bruce Boling.

The Boys and Girls Club is working with the community to expand. Officials with the club say their doors are open to all boys and girls in the area.
