The Central Virginia reports three protesters were arrested Monday before Congressman Eric Cantor's (R-7th District) campaign stop at a coffee shop in Louisa.
The newspaper says Jon Taylor, Lewalta Haney and a juvenile were waiting for Congressman Cantor, who is the Minority Whip of the U.S. House of Representatives, at the Solid Grounds Coffee House when they were asked to leave.
Haney said the group was simply drinking coffee and waiting for Cantor's arrival, but the store owner, Ray Minter, said they were being disorderly. Police were called when Minter asked the protesters to leave and they refused.
Taylor was charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice for resisting arrest. Haney and the juvenile were charged with criminal trespassing.
Cantor's Democratic opponent, Rick Waugh, lives in Louisa.
