So far support for the new high school seems to be polarizing the community.
Many people in the school district support the idea, but others worry about the tax increase that would follow a decision of this magnitude.
“There are a lot of older retired people that have resided in Fluvanna County most of their lives and they are the ones that are going to be picking up on the burden of a service they're not even using,” said Kara Thomas, Fluvanna County resident.
School leaders say a new school will benefit every county resident because students are future leaders.
