Albemarle County Revises Water Restrictions

The Albemarle County Service Authority's Board of Directors approved revisions to their rules on water restrictions.

The revisions go in to effect on Monday, October 22nd. They address concerns from nursery men, landscapers, irrigation contractors and the general public in regards to irrigating vegetation.

The restrictions include:

-The prohibition of use of automatic irrigation systems on established vegetation.
-The allowance of maunally watering outside established trees, plants, shrubs, and home gardens using a hose and automatic shut off nozzle.
-The development of establishment periods of newly seeded and sodded lawns and plantings
-The allowance of testing and servicing of outside automatic irrigation systems.
