UVa Offering Admissions Sessions In Spanish

October 19, 2007

UVa will be offering college admissions sessions in Spanish for students in northern Virginia high schools. The four informational sessions will be held at four northern Virginia high schools.

Julie Roa, a 2005 UVa graduate and a counselor in the University's admissions office, will lead the sessions at Manassas Park High School on October 22nd, JEB Stuart High School in Fairfax on October 23rd, Dominion High School in Loudoun on October 24th, and Yorktown High School in Arlington on October 25th.

The events are all free and begin at 7:30 p.m. Roa says that conducting the sessions in Spanish will give the parents the advantage of not having to bridge a language gap at the same time that they are being presented with concepts that are apt to be entirely new to them.
