Construction Worker Hospitalized After Falling Off UVa Building

October 19, 2007

A construction worker was sent to the hospital Friday morning after falling several feet from a UVa building.

Officials say the man fell at least one floor. Fire and rescue say they don't know the extent of the mans injuries but he is now being treated at UVa hospital.

It happened around 8:30 Friday morning on Crispell Drive at Medial Research Center #6. The UVa building is currently under construction.

It is not known how the man fell and exactly how many feet, but we do know construction supers on site have shut down construction until this accident is investigated and they can figure out the cause.

Rescuers are currently not releasing the name of the man that fell.
