Crozet Pizza was recognized as one of the 51 best pizza parlors in the United States in USA Today's Great American Bites travel section.
USA Today asked local experts to name one great pizza parlor in each state and the District of Columbia.
Crozet Pizza was the chosen representative from Virginia after being recommended by Bill Lohmann, Richmond Times-Dispatch columnist and author of Backroads and Byways of Virginia: Drives, Day Trips & Weekend Excursions.
Below is the description given for the popular Albemarle County pizza parlor:
Homemade dough, a perfect combination of sauce and spices, and a near endless list of toppings make Crozet Pizza in Crozet (15 miles west of Charlottesville) a destination for pie lovers. The appetizing ambiance of the cozy shop is enhanced by a wood stove, a screen door that gently slaps closed with the arrival of each customer and the majestic backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
No voting was involved and the state representatives were chosen based on recommendations from contributing writers.

Well, sure Crozet Pizza is the best...if you like crappy service and pizza that tastes like cardboard. Although, in fairness to the new owners, I only ate there once when the original jerk, I mean, owner, ran the place. He was arrogant as hell, thought his pizza was perfection, and didn't care that service was atrocious. He yelled at customers who complained, and because of him and his cardboard crust, I never went back. Even Domino's is better!
It's not easy to agree on pizza!
Aww you guys are just jealous! Crozet Pizza is the unquestionable Yummiest pizza ever! Thats all they do, no italian-american-pasta-garlic-bread-type genero stuff here, just awesome awesome pies and good brews!
