It's been five years in the making. Crozet put on its very first music festival on Saturday.

More than two dozen live acts played the event at Crozet Park, which also featured local beer, food and merchants.

"There's an amazing amount of talent here today, mostly I guess local, which is really cool," said Steve Hobeck, whose instrument company was one of the event's sponsors. "[I]t's great to see the local talent kind of intermix with the community."

Festival-goers were treated to eight hours of music on three stages. Organizers say they want this to become an annual event in Crozet. Proceeds from the event go to benefit projects in Crozet Park and other area non-profits.
