State police are investigating a fatal accident that happened in Nelson County Friday afternoon.
A 21-year-old man from Lynchburg was killed in the wreck near the intersection of routes 56 and 29. It happened just before 2 p.m.
Police say the driver of a car failed to stop at a stop sign. The car was hit by an oncoming truck. The driver of the car was killed, and his pasenger was taken to UVa Medical Center with serious injuries.
The two people in the truck were also taken to the hospital with non-life threating injuries.
