Students Walk To Raise Money For Muscular Dystrophy

October 28, 2007

Students and supporters took laps Sunday in the 13th annual Great Walk in Charlottesville to support Robbie Fleming, an Albemarle High School student living with muscular dystrophy.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association hosted the walk Sunday and about 50 people signed up.

Money raised goes towards duchenne muscular dystrophy, the disorder Robbie is diagnosed with.

"To raise money for muscular dystrophy, the neuro disease that I have, and we're just walking for a cause to raise money for it," said Robbie.

Last year organizers raised $20,000 and they hope to exceed that goal this year.
