Tuesday Could Mark First Democratic Majority In 12 Years

November 4, 2007

Holding the Senate majority could soon be a reality for Virginia Democrats.

If the party can win at least four of the 23 seats held by Republicans in Tuesday's elections, it would be the first Democratic held majority in a dozen years.

In the House of Delegates, Tuesday's General Assembly elections hold less promise for Democrats. In the 100-seat chamber, it's far less likely that Democrats will gain the 11 GOP seats they need to take control.
