A local defense is in some legal trouble of her own.

Debbie Wyatt has been indicted with five counts of attempting to corrupt or influence a grand jury.

Wyatt allegedly made contact with the jurors by phone and in person to let them know she wanted to testify on behalf of a client.

Wyatt has filed a motion to have the charges dismissed.

The national association of criminal defense lawyers is on her side. They say she was defending her client’s rights and contacting the jury was not illegal.
