DNA evidence has officially cleared a suspect who was thought to be the 1996 Route 29 Stalker.
The 29 Stalker tried to stop at least two dozen women along U.S. 29 between Culpeper and Charlottesville. He would alert women drivers that there was something wrong with their cars.
A hearing Wednesday in Prince William County failed to connect Darrell David Rice to the murder of Alicia Showalter Reynolds and the abduction of Carmelita Shomo.
Police have not charged anyone with Alicia Reynolds’ death.
