ATF Searching For Gun Thieves

Chesterfield County Police are continuing to investigate the robbery that occurred at the Bob Moates Gun Shop located on the 10418 Hull Street Road in Chesterfield. It happened around 8:30 Tuesday morning, January 11th.

Captain Chip Foster, a spokesman with the Chesterfield County Police, tells CBS 19 News, "A masked man entered the shop, displayed a gun and then ordered an employee to the floor." The Captain also adds, "Glass cases were smashed to obtain the firearms."

A completed inventory of the stolen weapons revealed that 63 handguns and four rifles were stolen during the robbery. Police have recovered the gold-colored Nissan Sentra they believe was involved in Tuesday morning’s robbery. Police believe there may be four men involved in the robbery who drove away in that vehicle, and are described as males who were:

- Wearing dark clothing
- Wearing gloves

Though, no one was reported injured during this incident, the investigation continues. Local, state, and federal authorities are involved throughout Central Virginia in what federal Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents are calling a "priority situation".
