The Charlottesville Downtown Foundation was organized 17 years ago to help increase economic development downtown.

Over the past years, the group used Fridays after Five to do just that.

But now that the downtown area seems to be thriving, the CDF feels it's time to move on.
A new group, Coran Capshaw, who handles promotions for the Dave Mathews band, will be taking over and adding more events.

“For someone to actually come in and do it for six days a week, they're going to do a great job," says Tony LaBua, former CDF Chairman. "They're really going to take Charlottesville to the next level of entertainment and we're looking forward to it.”

Labua says the new events probably won't begin until construction on the downtown amphitheatre is complete.
