Attorney General Jerry Kilgore stepped down from office Tuesday, Feb. 1 to run for governor full time.
Replacing Kilgore for the next 11 months is Judith Jagdmann.
The General Assembly unanimously voted to confirm the new attorney general last week.
She will be the first Republican woman to hold the job.
Jagdmann is a 1981 graduate of the University of Virginia and a native of Lee County.
The 46-year-old Jagdmann joined the General Assembly's office in 1998.
