Virginia's Commonwealth Transportation Board will consider a 25 cent toll increase at a meeting in Richmond later this month.

The added revenue would help fund Virginia's share of Metrorail's
expansion to Dulles.

Officials say the proposed increase would be the first since the
Dulles Toll Road opened in 1984.

The long-awaited expansion of Metrorail in northern Virginia is
being built in two phases. The first phase will extend the Orange
Line to Reston. The second portion of the project will reach Dulles
Airport.
