A Federal Express driver is recovering at UVA Medical Center Tuesday night after an accident in Albemarle County.

Police say the man was driving along Louisa Rd. near Bridlespur Farm when he somehow lost control and veered off the road, slamming into a tree.

This happened around 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, February 8.

Crews closed one lane of the road as they worked to clear the scene. Traffic was backed up for about a mile.

According to police, the driver was drifting in and out of consciousness when they arrived. No word yet on his condition.
