The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is holding a public hearing Thursday night, February 17, at Louisa County Middle School to discuss environmental impacts of new nuclear reactors at Dominion Power's North Anna site.

Currently, Dominion Power has two reactors and wants a permit to possibly build two more in the next twenty years. Richard Zuercher from Dominion Power said they have not decided to build a reactor yet.

Residents have concerns about the environment as well as their safety and health. But Chairman of Louisa County's Board of Supervisors, Fitzgerald Barnes, said Dominion has had a good track record thus far.

"Virginia Power has been a very good corporate citizen in Louisa County. They are very involved in the community and as a whole they have been very supportive in actions within the community," said Barnes. "They've been a good neighbor."
