Several local apartment managers got a special certificate from the Albemarle County Police Department Wednesday, February 16.
The certificates were given for completing the first of three phases in the department's Crime Free Multi Housing program. The day-long training session is designed to reduce crime by enhancing the relationship between police officers and apartment communities.
Some of the topics covered in the three-part program include crime prevention, property inspections and getting to know your neighbors.
