The Junior League of Charlottesville held its First Annual Author Dinner Fundraiser on Thursday, February 24th.

Members and other guests filled the Jefferson Ballroom at the Omni Hotel to raise money for their grant programs that benefit our community.

Another part of the evening was a silent auction, book signing, and a "Q & A" session with the guest speaker, Iranian-Jewish author Farideh Goldin.

The speaker for the inaugural gala is the author of "Wedding Song: Memoirs Of An Iranian Jewish Woman", based on her life.

Goldin fled Iran to arrive in the United States on July 4th, 1975 to pursue a better education.
