Albemarle County investigators are still working the scene of a murder after the body of a Fluvanna County man was found on Free Bridge Lane near Pantops Mountain early Monday morning, February 21st.

Albemarle County Police were called to area of Darden Towe Park around 7 o'clock Monday morning after receiving a call that a body was lying on a dirt path that's parallel to the Rivanna Trail.

Investigators say, a woman found the body while walking with her dog near the Charlottesville and Albemarle County line. There was also a brown 1981 2-door Buick Regal in a pull over spot next to the trail.

Police are not confirming if the 22-year old Fluvanna County victim, named Anthony Lorenzo Johnson of the 1200 block of Ampthill in Columbia, is the car's owner.

The department's entire investigation division responded, and will continue working throughout the night and into the early hours of the morning to comb the park for details.

Mr. Johnson's body will be taken to a medical examiner's office in Richmond to determine a cause of death.

Albemarle County Police are asking you to give Crimestoppers a call at (434) 977-4000 if you know the owner of the Buick with gray primer that was found at the scene. Again, it was a 2-door brown 1981 Buick Regal. If you were in the area during the early morning hours on Monday, you're also asked to call.

You do not have to give your name or any personal information in order to give a tip.
