Snowstorm Causes Accidents

Slush, slush, and more slush. That's the way to describe the roads on Thursday, February 24th because of the snowstorm. It was cold enough to snow, but not cold enough for the roads to ice over, making them just wet enough for drivers to be overconfident.

"You know it's like your driving along and you're calm, and at peace about it," recalled minor accident victim Doug Jwanouskous, "and it comes up and snake bites you."

Jwanouskous was driving his pickup on Seminole Trail when he lost control and slid into the tractor trailer in front of him. Luckily he only suffered a cut on his face. But it could have been much worse.

After accidents like this one, it's towing companies to the rescue and they see it all. They know how tires, even in four wheel drive, can lose traction and slide off the road.

"If you are all driving out here, you need to be careful. The roads are slick, and things like this happen on accident and we have to come out and get you, which we don't mind doing, but be careful," said Daniel Baumgarten from Lethal Towing Company.

Jwanouskous had a word of advice for drivers, and take it from a guy who knows. "If you can't walk on the stuff, what makes you think you can drive on it? Be careful!"
