Well, we're in the season of giving and Tuesday, people at UVA Medical Center did just that.

Dozens showed up to give blood at the hospital throughout the day. The blood drive was run by Virginia Blood Services. The goal was to collect 25 units of blood. Hospital officials say that during any holiday season – it's always harder to get blood donations.

However, Virginia Blood Services say they were able to collect 32 units of blood, 28 percent more than the average. VBS will have one more blood drive before the end of the year, which will take place on Dec. 30 at the Holiday Inn.
