A Nelson County man is dead and another man has been arrested for his murder after a shooting early Tuesday morning.
Forty-year-old Dwayne Scott Wyland of Schuyler is at Charlottesville Albemarle Regional Jail awaiting arraignment for killing 23-year-old Wayne Wilkerson of Schuyler at around 6 a.m. Wilkerson was shot in the arm and the chest.
Investigator Bridgewater of the Nelson County Sheriff's office says the two men may have been over a woman when Wilkerson was shot. The murder weapon, a handgun, was found at the scene.
