The winter storm grounded some planes in other cities, causing a chain reaction at Charlottesville Albemarle Airport. Officials at CHO said that so far, three flights were cancelled and three were delayed because of the weather.

Some passengers didn't know their flight was cancelled until they arrived at the airport - left with no choice but to wait it out.

"We just came to the airport and our son dropped us off and left. After we got inside we realized that the flight was cancelled," said passenger, Don Wanless.

"So we're just passing the time and hoping that the flight from Cincinnati will arrive so we can go on that flight and go home," said Alene Wanless.

CHO officials said their runway conditions are clear, but suggest passengers check the status of your flight before arriving.
