Police say 29-year-old Herbert Lee Greene II was caught after leaving his home to meet a minor he had met through an internet chat room.
Greene was allegedly talking with an Albemarle County police officer posed as a minor.
A special undercover joint task force of the Albemarle and Fluvanna County police called the ICAC, or internet crimes against children, and they arrested the Lake Monticello resident on two felony counts Wednesday evening.
This is green's home on Jennings drive at Lake Monticello. He is facing charges of: using a communications system for purpose of promoting the use of a minor for any activity, and, command and entreat to persuade a person under the age of 18 to carnal knowledge.
He was taken into custody at the Southwood Market in Albemarle County.
Green was released on bond and is awaiting a court date.
