Vietnam War Display

January 8, 2008

An exhibit at the Albemarle County Office Building invites you to see the world through the eyes of servicemen as they headed to the Vietnam War.

"Marking Time: Voyage to Vietnam" is a traveling exhibit. It features canvases that show signatures, poems, and cartoons by the servicemen.

"It expresses the humanity of young people going to war and what they were thinking about and how they were reacting to where they were going," said Art Beltrone, who, along with his wife, founded the project.

The display also has graffiti from an unknown local soldier. The exhibit founders are asking for help in identifying the soldier.

You can see the display from 8 to 5 this week at the Albemarle County Office Building on McIntire Road.
