Students in Albemarle County Public Schools exceeded their fund-raising goal by more than $25,000, stepping up their efforts when they found out that LexisNexis would match their funds.

Representatives from LexisNexus turned over a check totaling $5,000 to Lonnie Kirby of the American Red Cross this evening during the school board meeting. With that donation, the kids raised over $31,000 for the tsunami victims.
