Albemarle County BoS Approves YMCA Project

January 9, 2007

The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors approved plans for a new YMCA Wednesday, giving the project the final approval needed before moving foward.

The project is an agreement between the city of Charlottesville, Albemarle County and the YMCA. Officials say the new YMCA will greatly benefit the community.

"To me, particularly because I've been working on this project for many many years, it's the end of a long line and I'm just grateful for today" said supervisor Ken Boyd.

The new YMCA will be located at McIntire Park.
