The Fluvanna County Chamber of Commerce has new members and a new set of goals in 2008.
They have made their top priority bringing more business to the county in the form of tourism.
The chamber has beefed up their presence at the Piedmont Crossroads Visitors Center located at the Best Western Hotel in Zion's Crossroads.
Right now they are working on a detailed map to place in the visitor's center that they hope lead visitors and their wallets right into the county.
They hope that by bringing more tourism to Fluvanna County, bigger businesses like the Walmart that is coming next door in Louisa County will want to set up shop in Fluvanna.
"It keeps the money local. The tax base is local now; the sales tax, etc. The more businesses you have the less travel I have to do to Charlottesville to go to work, maybe those people can work inside Fluvanna County," said Chamber President, Robert Mayfield.
Officials also plan on creating a stronger presence within the schools by visiting 7th graders, and talking to them about opportunities in business.
