JABA Celebrates MLK Day

January 21, 2008

One Martin Luther King Jr. celebration in our area brought together old and new.

The event brought together seniors at JABA with pre-schoolers from Charlottesville's Montessori School.

The group commemorated the life of Dr. King by holding a day of service.

Floral arrangements were made by hand and a way to give thanks to countless volunteers in our area.

Many participants at today's event say they were living a part of King's dream.

"I think that's what we are known for. America. The United States. We do have a lot of nationalities, a lot of people from different countries coming here and I think that's the beauty of this place," said Mary Harrison, a senior with JABA.
