Charlottesville Names New Assistant City Manager

January 23, 2008

Wednesday the city of Charlottesville today named Maurice Jones as the new Assistant City Manager completing a six-month search to fill the position.

Jones replaces Rochelle Small-Toney who left the city in June for a similar position in Savannah, Georgia. Jones most recently has served as the Director of Development for the Miller Center Foundation since October of 2005.

“I am honored to return to work for the City in this exciting role,” said Jones. “Sustained input from our residents will be critical as we address the challenges and opportunities facing our community. I’m looking forward, with great anticipation, to serving as a liaison between our citizens and their City government.”

His first day on the job is February 26th.
