March 29, 2005.

State Senator Creigh Deeds has officially thrown his hat into the ring for Attorney General. During a stop in Charlottesville, the Bath county senator cited several goals he'd like to achieve if given the job. They include safeguarding against terrorists, ending domestic violence, eliminating the root cause of gangs with an after-school program, and protecting consumers.

"I see a whole lot of opportunities in the job. I think, on the other side of the job, that protecting consumers and providing advice for agencies in the state government, and it seems to me there is a lot of work to be done there and I am excited about that side," said Deeds.

Right now, Deeds is the only Democrat running for Attorney General.
